Can feng shui help my child sleep better?

Yes!

If your child is having trouble sleeping, or maybe doesn't want to sleep in his/her own room, the first thing that I would check is the positioning of the bed. Is the foot of the bed directly facing the door to the bedroom (or the bathroom doorway)?

Try to move the bed away from this position (even a few inches) and see if that helps.

Feng Shui Tips for Your Office

The working desk should be positioned in a commanding position. This means that is can be considered as the seat of power and thus has to be placed in a strategic position with view of the door.
The desk's position should offer one the greatest possible control.

The shape of the desk is also able to have an impact on the productivity within a working environment.

The more curves a desk has, the higher the likelihood of generating creative ideas while working on it. It could also affect a person's mood, for instance a desk that is shaped in the form of a kidney normally gives inner alignment to a person.

Feng Shui and Mirrors

Mirrors in Feng Shui .....................Some schools of Feng Shui prohibit any mirrors in a bedroom. Black Hat Feng Shui teaches us that a round or oblong mirror placed on the SW wall of your bedroom can enhance marital harmony. Never place a mirror at the foot of the bed. This is a no-no in all schools of Feng Shui! Opening up spaces. Mirrors are wonderful in opening up spaces that may be small or cramped. If your entryway seems congested, first clear the clutter and then add a mirror on the wall to 'open up' the small space. Reflection of nature Using Feng Shui mirrors can also be a wonderful opportunity to pull in the wonderful aspects of nature into your space. For this to be accomplished, the placement of a mirror inside the house should be positioned so it faces the element that is desired. In this way, a beautiful lake or the ocean view can be drawn into the home to give an illusion that the natural element is inside the house.
These are some good suggestions for bringing good feng shui into your home.

Feng Shui front door tip

According to the principles of feng shui, doors represent the mouth of chi, (where energy enters ones space). The rule is to try and attract the most positive energy through the front door in order to nourish and energize your entire space.

There are various tips one can use to increase the positive energy directed at the front door as seen below. When a wall is the first thing you see upon entering your door, what will occur is a stoppage of energy into the heart of the home. Hanging a mirror to face you as you enter will allow the energy to 'pass through' without any obstacles. The front door should also be as close as possible to the living area as this will welcome visitors and support the lives of people living in that home.

How fountains are so important in feng shui!..

FENG SHUI FOUNTAINS

Maybe you have already heard how popular fountains and numerous other water features are for enhancing your own feng shui. Because of the constant movement of the water, fountains can draw abundance and prosperity into your home or business. Whether you choose a fountain that resembles an art piece or a simple tabletop fountain, with proper placement you will gain enormous benefits..

Moving water gets the ‘chi’ (energy) moving, especially if it is placed either outside your front door or just inside your entryway. On a physical level, it will add humidity to an overly dry or stagnant room.

A fountain placed in the Southeast corner of your home is a major enhancement that can lead to wealth and prosperity. A garden fountain or waterfall outside this area would also be extremely helpful.

Adding a water feature (or a swimming pool) in the South area of your home is not a good idea, as this area resonates with the element of FIRE and too much water could adversely affect your business and reputation.

I would not recommend too much water placed in the center or the “tai chi” of the home. This area reflects the element of earth, and too much water can literally wash away the benefits of earth and adversely affect your health.

Feng Shui Tips for 2010

Happy New Year from your Hollywood Feng Shui Lady!

One of the very best things to do to start the new year off is to undergo a thorough cleaning and a letting go of clutter to allow fresh energy and new opportunities to flow into your life. This is also the best time to have Feng Shui done on your home and business spaces, as the energy is strongest for change.

If you have made resolutions for 2010, help yourself keep them by doing some introspection to discover why you have not been able to make these changes before. If you are trying to lose weight, what do you do to sabotage yourself? Do you put off exercising for that "perfect day" when all the planets line up and you have nothing else to do that you consider important?

Is your kitchen or dining room in an area of your home (a feng shui issue) that might be contributing to your weight gain? (More about this in future blogs).

Most of us are looking to improve our financial situations. What steps in 2010 will we be taking to heal some of the incredible financial stress of the last two years? If we have a business, what will we do to promote this business? If we sit on our haunches and expect business to flow toward us without expending a great deal of energy, than there is little hope that we can become successful.

Look for opportunities to grow your business. Hire a business coach. (A good investment). Joining a networking group and attending business seminars is always great for making connections. Get youself a website, business cards and brochures and get your name out there!

And of course, have your home work for you while building your success, by having Feng Shui done in your home!
