How fountains are so important in feng shui!..

FENG SHUI FOUNTAINS

Maybe you have already heard how popular fountains and numerous other water features are for enhancing your own feng shui. Because of the constant movement of the water, fountains can draw abundance and prosperity into your home or business. Whether you choose a fountain that resembles an art piece or a simple tabletop fountain, with proper placement you will gain enormous benefits..

Moving water gets the ‘chi’ (energy) moving, especially if it is placed either outside your front door or just inside your entryway. On a physical level, it will add humidity to an overly dry or stagnant room.

A fountain placed in the Southeast corner of your home is a major enhancement that can lead to wealth and prosperity. A garden fountain or waterfall outside this area would also be extremely helpful.

Adding a water feature (or a swimming pool) in the South area of your home is not a good idea, as this area resonates with the element of FIRE and too much water could adversely affect your business and reputation.

I would not recommend too much water placed in the center or the “tai chi” of the home. This area reflects the element of earth, and too much water can literally wash away the benefits of earth and adversely affect your health.

Feng Shui Tips for 2010

Happy New Year from your Hollywood Feng Shui Lady!

One of the very best things to do to start the new year off is to undergo a thorough cleaning and a letting go of clutter to allow fresh energy and new opportunities to flow into your life. This is also the best time to have Feng Shui done on your home and business spaces, as the energy is strongest for change.

If you have made resolutions for 2010, help yourself keep them by doing some introspection to discover why you have not been able to make these changes before. If you are trying to lose weight, what do you do to sabotage yourself? Do you put off exercising for that "perfect day" when all the planets line up and you have nothing else to do that you consider important?

Is your kitchen or dining room in an area of your home (a feng shui issue) that might be contributing to your weight gain? (More about this in future blogs).

Most of us are looking to improve our financial situations. What steps in 2010 will we be taking to heal some of the incredible financial stress of the last two years? If we have a business, what will we do to promote this business? If we sit on our haunches and expect business to flow toward us without expending a great deal of energy, than there is little hope that we can become successful.

Look for opportunities to grow your business. Hire a business coach. (A good investment). Joining a networking group and attending business seminars is always great for making connections. Get youself a website, business cards and brochures and get your name out there!

And of course, have your home work for you while building your success, by having Feng Shui done in your home!

Feng Shui Loves the Lights and Colors of the Holidays

Feng Shui Loves the lights and colors of the holidays!

Feng Shui is all about adding energy and vitality to your immediate environment, and this time of year is the best at doing just that!
The red, green, gold and silver of Christmas is unsurpassed at raising good healthy chi. The Christmas tree if placed in the SE corner of your home can attract wealth energy! The welcoming wreath at the door does more than just decorate the front door. The colors of the wreath draw in positive healthy energy through your front door and into the heart of the house.

The wonder of all the lights and sounds of the very busy holiday season create energy and a wonderful home environment. It's not a mystery as to why we seem to be generally in a happy mood during the holiday season! Family, food, festivities, good cheer and GREAT CHI!

The blue and white colors of Hanukah are wonderful for adding more clarity and focus during the stressful few weeks of the holidays. The gold of the Hanukah menorah and the fire from the candles, create wonderful FIRE energy. Fire energy is optimal in the South area of your home, so if your dining room happens to be near the back center of your home, when you light your candles, you are also energizing your reputation!

I wish you all a Very Happy Holiday Season!

Feng Shui and Gratitude

Feng Shui and Gratitude

Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks for all of the many blessings in our lives. I start every day with the feeling of gratitude for my own blessings and prayers for those who are needy of more abundance in their own lives.

I can truthfully say that Feng Shui is a blessing. When I was first introduced to the practice many years ago, my husband and I were facing a number of difficulties in our life. A good and kind friend who was way ahead of his time...... (In the eighties) no one had heard of Feng Shui) gifted us with a consultation in hopes of healing some of the troubles in our life. It was miraculous!! For us, the positive changes in our life were so profound that I wanted to learn what this "Feng Shui' was all about!

I began to study, and study. I then began to test my knowledge on my friends and family, and lo and behold, their lives improved! I studied more!
I became a certified professional feng shui practitioner in 1993. The rewards have been astounding. I am able to do for others what was done for me so many years ago, and for that I am forever grateful

Many Blessings to you all!

Feng Shui for Halloween!

Halloween Feng Shui Tips from Elaine!

I love Autumn! I love Halloween! It reminds me of what should be the end of steamy summer and an opportunity to wear some cozy clothes. The other thing I love about Autumn are the colors. I’m from the east coast and I grew up with a ‘riot’ of colors this time of year. Today, it’s 90 degrees outside so I really have to use my imagination! But the colors of Autumn are beautiful and vibrant and we can love them and enjoy them and also use them for Feng Shui benefits!!

In Feng Shui the colors of Autumn connect with the earth element, and the area in the home that resonates with earth is near the center of your home. The center of your home is very important to the health and well-being of you and your family, and we always want to make sure that it’s in great shape! What we don’t like to see in the center area are staircases, stoves or bathrooms. These may contribute to negative health issues. If we use the colors of Autumn near the center of our home, it can have a protective effect. A gorgeous bouquet of earth colors on a table near your center space would be ideal!

Here are a few tips for this great time of year.

Hang a wreath of autumn colors on your front door
Add a wind chime near your front entrance to herald in the new season. Spray paint the metal tubes orange or black in honor of Halloween.
Light the pathway to your front door with lights or lanterns.
Place an odd number of pumpkins outside your front entrance. Use three, five or nine pumpkins. They don’t have to be clustered together, just visible on entering your walkway.
Add a colorful Halloween door- mat at your front door.

Happy Halloween and Good Feng Shui!

Feng Shui For France!

I've had the most interesting time this past week working with a client in Paris! Yes, I do long distance Feng Shui consultations. She actually heard about me from her dear friend in London who I had done work for two years ago. This lovely Parisian lady works in the fashion industry and is very, very precise about how she works with design, either in her wardrobe or her home, and, being long distance, it was a challenge to be sure!

What transpired was a thoroughly pleasurable experience! She sent me videos and photos of her exquisite apartment (with a view of the Eiffle Tower, no less) and I went to work. We set up two phone consults to discuss her floor plan and the "remedies" she required.

Her issue was that even though she has a beautiful apartment by all standards, she did not feel at all comfortable in her space. I saw from her floor plan and from what she was telling me that her space (though beautiful) did not have the proper balance of energy to insure harmony. I had such a fine time speaking with her as I got to test out my French again!

I lived in Paris in my twenties and learned to speak the language, but forgot 90% of it!! I had such a happy time conversing with her, and I hope she has lots of questions so I have the pleasure again!

Feng Shui and Health

Elaine Giftos Wright

The Wright Way of Feng Shui
http://www.way2fengshui.com/

The unnatural environment we live in has created extremely stressful conditions for our bodies, affecting our emotional behavior, our psyche, our brain patterns and our physical health. It is therefore very important to protect ourselves in our immediate environment by applying the most effective Feng Shui techniques and remedies.
Our bodies need a harmonious flow of energy to facilitate the nourishment of our cells and to support smooth metabolism and cell rejuvenation.

Statistics have shown that individuals who chronically suffered from colds, flu’s, and fungal infections recovered after the Feng Shui of their homes was improved.

Children living in an imbalanced home may exhibit signs of agitation, aggressiveness and hyperactivity.
Adults are more stressed, bad tempered, agitated and conflicted. A general lack of balanced energy may result in in reduced blood circulation and aggravate heart problems.

Feng Shui is certainly not a “magic bullet” for all of life’s ills and problems, but environments that have good Feng Shui statistically prove to be a perfect adjunct to a healthy life style in keeping your family healthy and prosperous. prosperous life!

Yours in Good Health!
